What is the EAS+RTK course?

The training for candidates for first driving licences (EAS) and risk recognition training (RTK) is a course that includes the statutory driving school instruction for instruction permit students. The course is mandatory for those who do not have a previous driving licence. The EAS+RTK course for instruction permit students includes online theory studies and driving practice with a driving simulator as well as the driving school’s car. Half of the driving practice is carried out with a driving simulator, which is used for practising driving in slippery road conditions and driving in the dark, and the other half is driven with the driving school’s car in actual traffic together with a driving instructor.

Online lessons are spoken in Finnish and subtitled in English.

What is the risk recognition training in the simulator?

Risk recognition training, also known as RTK or risk training, is training that includes online theory studies and driving practice with a driving simulator as well as the driving school’s car.

This is a risk recognition training course where 3 out of 4 driving lessons are driven with a simulator, which is used for practising driving in slippery road conditions and driving in the dark. One lesson is with a driving school’s car in actual traffic together with a driving instructor.

What is the Co-instruction course?

The Co-instruction course combines the best features of driving school instruction and learning with an instruction permit. The course includes the training for candidates for first driving licences (EAS) and risk recognition training (RTK), theory test practice programme, two driving lessons with a driving simulator and two additional driving lessons with the driving school’s car together with your own driving instructor. The EAS and RTK sections include the statutory theory studies online as well as driving lessons with a driving simulator and with the driving school’s car. The RTK driving training consists of 3 driving hours on a driving simulator (slippery road conditions and driving in the dark). One driving lesson is driven together with our driving instruction in a driving school’s car. On the additional driving lessons, you can enhance your learning together with a professional driving instructor.

During these lessons, you can practise, for instance, joining a motorway, intersections, reversing or parking. The aim of this course is to ensure that the student has all the skills required for the driving test.

What is the Start course?

The Start course includes the training for candidates for first driving licences (EAS), risk recognition training (RTK), theory test practice programme and one driving lesson with a car together with your driving instructor. The EAS and RTK sections include the statutory theory studies online as well as driving lessons with a driving simulator and with the driving school’s car. Part of the driving practice is carried out with a driving simulator, which is used for practising driving in slippery road conditions and driving in the dark. One lesson is with a driving school’s car in actual traffic together with a driving instructor. During a separate driving lesson, the driving instructor goes over the basics of driving, such as the vehicle controls, where you should look while driving, and paying attention to blind spots. The content of the driving lesson is tailored to the needs and wishes of each student.

On the Start course, you will get the best tips for teaching and give your own car a break, because the first driving lessons are driven with the driving school’s car. In addition to the instruction permit student, the instruction permit instructor may also attend the driving lesson.

What is the Practice driving test course?

On the Practice driving test course, you practise for the driving examination. The course includes the training for candidates for first driving licences (EAS) and risk recognition training (RTK), theory test practice programme and a long driving test practice lesson with the driving school’s car together with your own driving instructor. The EAS and RTK sections include the statutory theory studies online as well as driving lessons with a driving simulator and with the driving school’s car. The RTK driving training consists of 3 driving hours on a driving simulator (slippery road conditions and driving in the dark). One driving lesson is driven together with our driving instruction in a driving school’s car. During a separate long driving lesson, the areas corresponding to the real driving test are reviewed with the driving instructor. This 90-minute driving lesson also includes an instructive feedback section with your driving instructor.

On the Intensive instruction course, the instruction permit student gets in-depth instruction from a professional driving instructor with the driving school’s car and a driving simulator. The course includes the training for candidates for first driving licences (EAS) and risk recognition training (RTK), theory test practice programme, eight driving lessons with a driving simulator and six additional driving lessons with the driving school’s car together with your own driving instructor. The EAS and RTK sections include the statutory theory studies online as well as driving lessons with a driving simulator and with the driving school’s car. The RTK driving training consists of 3 driving hours on a driving simulator (slippery road conditions and driving in the dark). One driving lesson is driven together with our driving instruction in a driving school’s car. During the many additional driving lessons, you can deepen your learning together with a professional driving instructor.
