1. Sign up for our moped course
Sign up for a course with the sign-up form. After this, we will contact you to schedule the driving lessons together.
2. Apply for a driving licence permit
To obtain a driving licence, you need to get a permit, issued by Traficom. The driver’s license application is made at Ajovarma, a service provider of Traficom.
If you don’t have a previous driving licence, you will need to submit two passport photos as an attachment to the license application – in most cases, no other attachments are needed! If you have a previous driving licence, a handwritten signature is sufficient for the driving licence application. However, this is a good time to change the updated photo of yourself on the driving licence.
Talk to your doctor about the need for a medical certificate if you have or have had any of diseases, injuries or symptoms that affect your driving health.
It’s convenient to apply for a driver’s license electronically in Traficom’s service, which can be done under certain conditions. Check the terms and go to Traficom’s electronic service.
You should apply for a permit right at the beginning of the course. Driving lessons can begin even before applying for a driver’s license permit, but you need the permit to book a theory test.
You can apply for a permit at the earliest at the age of 14 and it is valid for three years.
3. Start theory lessons right away
Helping our learners to become safe drivers is important to us. That’s why we offer, in addition to the legal minimum requirement, a range of packages from which you can select a suitable number of lessons. All our moped courses include a 4-hour safety training, which serves as the official start of the course. Online lessons are spoken in Finnish and subtitled in English.
Driving school always kicks off with theory studies. After signing up, you will receive your credentials to our e-learning environment, and you can start your theory studies right away.
4. Take the theory test
You can take the theory test at your nearest examination location. You can take the theory test no earlier than one month before your 15th birthday. You must apply for a driving licence permit and complete the 4-hour safety training before taking the theory test. Take a photo ID and the guardian’s consent form with you to the handling test, and be prepared to pay for your handling and theory test.
The driving school provides you with the guardian’s consent form. Note! Ask at least one guardian to fill out the form!
5. Driving instruction begins
You can start driving instruction after you have completed the 4-hour safety training and you have turned 15 years old. Driving instruction is always designed on the basis of the package selected by the learner and customised for each learner. Our professional instructors take care of your instruction!
6. Pass the driving test and congratulate yourself on your new driving licence
As with the theory test, the driving test is taken at an examination office (Ajovarma Oy). You can take the driving test after you have passed the theory test, completed the driving lessons included in your package and turned 15.
Take the following with you to the driving test:
- an acceptable form of ID
- The E100 form (certificate of driving instruction received) from the driving school
- If your course has included driving lessons with a driving school instructor, the instructor will take care of the certificate at the time of departure for the handling and driving test.
- Make sure you have paid for the test through the payment link you received at the time of booking
- You do not need a receipt with you unless the payment was made very recently.
If you pass the test, you will get a temporary driving licence. Your final driving licence will be sent to you later.
