Frequently asked questions

Can Risk recognition training be done with a driving instruction permit?

Training cannot be provided with a driving instruction permit, it must always be completed at a driving school or by another approved instructor (Traficom). The Risk recognition training includes 4 hours of online theory lessons and 4 lessons of driving, which are partly given on a simulator. The training includes driving in the dark and on slippery roads. It is recommended to complete the Risk recognition training when you have already accumulated driving experience in traffic and are well-versed in car control skills and how to act in traffic (at least 10-20 hours).

We recommend that you register for the training before the theory test, but this is not required by law. As long as the training is fully completed when going to the driving test.
