Risk recognition training (RTK)

Risk recognition training (RTK), also known as Risk training, is training required by law for anyone obtaining their driving licence at a driving school or with an instruction permit.

RTK includes four hours of online theory training and four hours of driving instruction, part of the driving lessons are driven with a simulator (e.g. slippery road conditions and driving in the dark) and part with the driving school’s car together with a driving instructor. Online lessons are spoken in Finnish and subtitled in English.

What is the Intensive instruction course?

On the Intensive instruction course, the instruction permit student gets in-depth instruction from a professional driving instructor with the driving school’s car and a driving simulator. The course includes the training for candidates for first driving licences (EAS) and risk recognition training (RTK), theory test practice programme, eight driving lessons with a driving simulator and six driving lessons with the driving school’s car together with a driving instructor. The EAS and RTK sections include the statutory theory studies online as well as driving lessons with a driving simulator and with the driving school’s car. The RTK driving training consists of 3 driving hours on a driving simulator (slippery road conditions and driving in the dark). One driving lesson is driven together with our driving instruction in a driving school’s car. During the many driving lessons, you can deepen your learning together with a professional driving instructor.

Online lessons are spoken in Finnish and subtitled in English.

The course begins with EAS training, after which the student completes the risk recognition training once it is relevant in terms of the progress of the instruction permit driving lessons. The Intensive instruction course includes in-depth practical exercises with your driving instructor. This course is a great choice when you want to utilize the driving instructor’s expertise in driving practice and get a lot of practice and repetition in instruction permit instruction before the driving examination.

Purchasing and completing the risk recognition training

Driving school always kicks off with theory studies. Online lessons are spoken in Finnish and subtitled in English.

The instruction includes two (2) driving lessons with a simulator to practise driving in slippery road conditions and driving in the dark. We will book these after you sign up. You will receive a text message confirmation of the simulator driving lessons with the PIN code for the lesson. Follow the instructions during the simulator lessons.

Please contact our customer service to book driving lessons, unless they have been booked in advance by the driving school. The course includes two (2) driving lessons with the driving school’s car together with your own driving instructor. In particular, the driving lessons will strengthen the ability to identify and avoid dangerous situations in traffic and factors that may increase the risk of accidents by reducing the driver’s ability to drive.

For an additional fee, you can complete all driving lessons with a real car and complete track practice on the driving practice track.
